From WordPress to Framer: a smart move for your law firm?
Many law firm websites run on WordPress and need more maintenance than necessary. I explain what moving to Framer brings, and what to watch out for.

Many law firms run their website on WordPress. That makes sense: it is the best-known system in the world. But in practice I often see the same picture: a site that was good once, but has become slow, is full of plugins, and nobody really wants to touch anymore.
Why WordPress often needs maintenance
WordPress itself is free, but almost everything you need comes from plugins: forms, security, speed, multiple languages. Every plugin has to stay up to date, and every update can break something else. If nobody keeps track, the site becomes slower and more vulnerable. For a firm that is built on trust, that is a risk.
What Framer does differently
Framer is a platform where design, website and hosting come together. Hosting, an SSL certificate and a fast global network are included. No plugins are needed for the basics, so there are no endless updates either. And you edit texts, news or team profiles yourself in a clear editor.
What this means for a law firm
Speed on mobile: clients often look you up on the go. A fast site feels professional.
Multiple languages: many firms work in several languages. Framer has translation built in.
Structure: you manage practice areas and lawyer profiles in the CMS, so everything stays consistent.
Peace of mind: no updates that unexpectedly take your site offline.
What to watch out for
Moving is not a matter of copying. Existing pages need to redirect to their new address, or you lose your positions in Google. Your copy deserves a critical look, and specific integrations (for example with a case management system) need checking in advance. Framer works with a subscription, so expect a fixed monthly cost instead of separate maintenance invoices.
How I handle a move
As an official Framer Expert, I guide firms from start to finish: first positioning and structure, then design and build, and finally the move itself, including redirects and SEO. That way you keep everything you have built up, and you get a site that matches your firm’s reputation. See also how I approach website design for law firms.
